MDS News: CMS has retired F642 and moved its requirements under F641: Accuracy of Assessments. The requirements under F641 state a registered nurse must coordinate and certify the completion of each MDS assessment, assessments must be accurate, timely, and supported by clinical documentation, falsifying MDS data can lead to Civil Money Penalties.

Up to $1,000 per assessment for willful falsification
Up to $5,000 if someone is pressured to certify false information
Clinical disagreement is not considered falsification
